The fairy trail: an unusual hike!

To set off on the parcours des fées is to choose a journey where art blends into the wild, unspoilt nature of the Crévoux valley. With each step, a multitude of feelings mingle: from surprise to enchantment, from work to work. And this grandiose landscape: nature in its purest form! This project, led by the Fées d'hiver association since 2010, has grown to offer everyone a veritable open-air museum combining art and landscape.

A varied offering: a truly enchanting package

When you arrive in the Crévoux valley, in the heart of the Parpaillon massif and facing the Ecrins National Park, you have the impression of entering a completely unspoilt natural landscape. And Le parcours des Fées is the highlight. A varied offering to suit every taste.

How do I get there?

From Embrun, take the D994d towards St André d'Embrun, then the D39 towards Crévoux. 1 km before the village, turn left towards the hamlet of La Chalp, and continue as far as the parking lot at Le Plan (parking area).

Digital Follies

In addition to the Parcours des Fées, the Fées d'hiver association is organizing its digital arts festival in the hamlet of Champ Rond on August 11.12.13, 2023, at night.

This digital arts biennial gives artists the opportunity to present a preview of their work to the public. The association organizes creative residencies and productions throughout the year. Stages of work, finished works, here all come together in a nocturnal itinerary where surprises arise as you wander through the hamlet of Champ Rond, where their Creation Center has been working since 2005.

You'll be able to preview 12 installations by Scenocosme, Florent Colautti, Florian Carro, Valentin Goulmy, Claudine Meyer, Marc Limousin, David Coignard, Frédéric Alemany, La Station Magnétique and Erik Lorré.

What are the WINTER FAIRIES?

A creative space for the digital arts, co-managed by artists based on the principles of cooperation and sharing, to produce together works that are resolutely contemporary and innovative. Its operations are aimed at the creation, production and distribution of works, events and educational initiatives, as well as the search for a new economic model. One of Les Fées d'Hiver's flagship projects is the Parcours des Fées. Every year, artists are invited to build an art trail along a hiking path during a creative residency in June. Today, it has become one ofthe most important in situ art events in France.

"This action, with its educational dimension, contributes to our objective of bringing contemporary art to the public in the heart of nature, by surprising them in unusual places. It reveals the human, natural and cultural riches of the immediate environment by involving the local population and the rural world in the development of this project."

Erik Lorré, Directeur Artistique de “Fées d’hiver”.

'' If you're heading to the Hautes-Alpes this summer, be sure to make a detour into the Vallée de Crévoux. Some twenty works of contemporary art are displayed along the hiking trail, which takes on the air of a "fairy trail".
