Description

Welcome to Jean-Pierre Silve, woodturner in Crevoux!
Rural museum "le temps retrouvé".
Artisanat d'Art - Woodturning.
Workshop / exhibition.

As you wander through the narrow streets of Crévoux in the Hautes-Alpes region, you're sure to be attracted by the smell of wood emanating from the village's rural museum.
A self-taught woodturner who has been a professional since 2001, Jean-Pierre SILVE, who used to work as a ski patroller in his village in winter, now devotes his time entirely to creating turned or carved wooden objects, from utilitarian objects to artistic or decorative pieces...

In 2017, Jean-Pierre became an artisan manufacturer of "Jeux Laloye". The adventure began at the end of April 2017 when Christian Laloye contacted Jean-Pierre to present his project and offer him a partnership in the artisan manufacture of his spinning tops. Invented by Christian, patented and 100% French, the spinning tops won a silver medal at the l'épine competition in 2013.
Jean-Pierre and Corinne will share their passion with you by opening the doors of the exhibition/sales museum and workshop: "LE TOURBILLON DES TOUPIES"
(All year round by appointment) so that curious visitors can understand the purpose of the gouge, the tool needed to make spinning tops that strive for perfection!
A warm atmosphere to discover at the Crévoux rural museum.

Personalised guided tour and discovery of the valley's heritage, representation of life in the past in our mountain valleys and the trades practised to live self-sufficiently.

This summer, Jean-Pierre is offering woodturning workshops. For more information, call 06 82 88 45 00.
